As the Christmas season begins, many in the community look forward to seeing local homes and businesses beautifully decorated and draped in colorful lights. Last year, Bristow Garden Club began offering an annual lights tour throughout the community aboard the Woodland Queen trolley for festive fun with friends and family; in the last week, the club announced its tour dates for this season. Tour dates have been set for December 15, 16, and 17.
Each night’s tours will begin at 6 p.m. and at 7:30 p.m. and will depart from Trinity Baptist Church at 4th Avenue and Roland Street. For last year’s trolley tours, Bristow Garden Club offered hot chocolate and cookies in an effort to create a more special holiday outing for its patrons. The choice was reportedly a hit with riders, so the club will offer the treats again this year. Additionally, the club will host a bake sale each night of the tours to help raise money for its local projects, and Santa will be present on all tour dates for the children.
Like last year, tickets may be purchased for $8 each and are exclusively available at Route 66 Artisans on Main at 118 North Main Street; however, tickets may only be purchased by cash or local check. Children under the age of ten may ride free when accompanied by an adult ticket holder.
