Bristow High School’s graduating class of 1957 enjoyed their 65th reunion on Sept. 3, 2022. Betty Strong Lindsey hosted the reunion at 2 p.m with fellowship then Dinner served at 6:30 p.m.The fellowship hall was decorated in the style of the 50’s included a shirt embroidered “Lost In The Fifties”, a 4-H full skirt of felt, a wall hanging quilt of the Class of ‘57 made by Claudia Strickland. Atreasurechest spilling over with jewels and coins beside a treasure chest filled with individual packs of peanuts because in the early days Jack Abraham, owner of J & J Cafe made a proclamation that because Creek County was the Peanut Capital of the World that every cafe must give a glass of water and a peanut to each customer. Guest were entertained by Carolyn Webb conducting a class participation game.A delicious Brisket dinner was served by Betty Lindsey assisted by two special friends from the Catholic Church, Charlene and Joe Winker. A gorgeous and delicious cake was baked by Tonya Swartz also a friend of Betty. This cake was in the form of magnificent ornate Pirates’s Chest complete with gold coins of chocolates.classmates, spouses, and guest were J. V. and Lil Holden, Kay and Bud Goodroad, Bill and Peggy Gurley, Phyllis and Ronald Craig, Ted and Jan Tidwell, Barbara Hutton, Charles Ray Smith and Patricia Pleasant, Kathryn Costner, Dixie and Charles Calvin, Betty Lindsey, Donna Alsup Pinkey, Virginia McClead Freeland, Donna Cash Howell and S.G., Frank Groom, Mary Propst Zenbod, Ola Mae Looney, Mathew Conant, Melanie McGouran and Bob and Carolyn Webb. It was great fun reminiscing and catching up with everyone. This class has been very active and has kept close ties with each other. We are now looking forward to our next get together.
