Where Has The Time Gone?

If you were born before 1965 you’ve heard the classic lament, “Where has the time gone?” It’s true that life goes by too fast. Your children were cute and cuddly little humans not many years ago. Now you’ve watched them go off to kindergarten, and you cried, saying, “My babies are growing up!”

Then they get their driver’s licenses, and you cry, “I hope they’ll be OK.” You’ve measured them for brightly flowing gowns and caps to graduate from high school. That's their big step into the adult world.

It’s a moment in time that will affect the rest of their lives: job; spouse; home; children. You shed more tears for how quickly life passes.

You’ve lived a long, productive, and happy life. Loving family and friends have surrounded you with kindness and joy. You’ve had support during the sad times, but life goes by too quickly.

We all know, however, that our last day on this earth will one day arrive. Our final moment rarely comes when we expect it.

So, what are you doing to prepare for it? It takes more than buying the best and highest pay-out life insurance. If you already have a will, good! You need to get that done if you haven’t yet, but there is still a more important step you must take if you will face the end fully prepared.

You need to consider your spiritual wellness. How is your relationship with God?

There is one question that you need to answer honestly before your last day here. “Are you going to heaven?” Some will answer, “I hope so!” Others may say, “I think so!”

Yes, we all “hope so,” and many only “think so!” But, are you sure you are going to heaven? Can you have the peaceful confidence that you are going to heaven?

At least one Bible writer specifically states that you can be certain about your eternal destiny. Consider 1 John 5:13 - “These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.”

Did you see it? The sixth word from the end tells it all. You can “know” your eternal destiny! Are you a question mark? You can become an exclamation point! Don’t let your time go by until it becomes everlasting too late!

Learn more about Jesus in your own Bible. Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” ( John 14:6) He can make you an exclamation point! When will your time end?
