Michael De Wayne Eslick was born Oct. 11, 1973, to Clarence D. and Dulean Delores Eslick in Little Rock, Arkansas. He departed this life Jan. 20, 2022 at the age 48 years.
Mike was a lifetime resident of Bristow, moving here with his family at the age of three. He grew up attending Bristow Public Schools. Mike left for the Army at an early age serving faithfully until he was discharged honorably. Returning to Bristow from the service Mike began a career as a firefighter for the city serving 14 years before his retirement in 2013. He held a bachelor’s degree in Fire Service Management from Oklahoma State University.
December 6, 2003, Mike Eslick and Cathy Strome were united in marriage. Best friends from the start; jokes and pranks were an everyday occurrence as they built their life together. Mike was a true joker and he’d get just about anyone at the most inopportune time. He loved to golf, fish and hunt but, most importantly he loved his family and time with them was a precious and a joyous occasion.
Mike is survived by his wife of the Bristow home, Cathy; three children, Shae Eslick, of Bristow, Layton Eslick and wife Shelby, of Bristow and Maizie Eslick, of Yukon; two brothers, Terry Eslick and wife Laura, of Broken Arrow, and Jody Eslick and wife Cindy, of Corsicana, Texas; two sisters, Irene Wilson and husband Steve, of Tulsa and Sheila White and husband James, of Broken Arrow; two grandchildren, Kadence and Parker Eslick; mother and father in law, Diane Van Ness and husband Joe, of Bristow and Charles and Faye Dotson, of Bristow.
He was preceded in death by his parents, great grandma, Minnie Looney and family fur baby, Cricket Eslick.
