OHCE begins new year with a new president

Newly elected 2022 Bristow OHCE President, Carolyn Kuykendell, opened their meeting on January 12, 2022, at the Trinity Baptist Youth Center. Ray Kinslow presented a devotional describing “A True Disciple of Christ” This was followed by V.P. Dr. Joyce Kinslow, leading the group in the pledge of the US and Oklahoma OHCE creed. Members responded to the roll call by answering of their past experience of train trips.

Dr. Joyce and Ray Kinslow presented the Leader Lesson “Beautiful Cross-Country US Train Routes” by identify ing and providing information about US tourist train trips.

Twenty-one routes were identified and described. Their locations were shown on a United States map. In addition, each member selected the name of one the routes, for review, and this could be used as a group activity game.

The passing loss of Bristol Fisher, who had been one of the original members and organizers of Bristow OHCE was noted. The club voted to honor Bristol by donating $100 to the John 3:16, located in Tulsa. (Bristol and Mitch have been involved in John 3:16, which provide emergency housing, food, etc.) New member, Julia Russell, was welcomed. Julia has worked as a chef ina private club, children’s state hospital, and in private sector. “Jane’s Household Hints” identified the uses of apple cider vinegar. President Carolyn showed how to make reusable “Paper Towel” from specific fabric. Next meeting, is February 8, 2022.
