Blair Chaney a Sophomore at Bristow High School started CrossFit in June of 2020 as a way to help her gain strength and stay in shape for high school athletics. But it didn’t take long for her to fall in love with the variety of the strength, conditioning and overall functional training of the sport.
Almost exactly a year later, she nervously signed up for the Pit’s Elite Teen Throwdown, an online CrossFit competition where if she finished in the top 40, she would qualify to travel to Three Rivers, Michigan for the big competition. After completing 5 grueling workouts over a 10 day period, Chaney come out on top and proved herself to be in the top 10 percent fittest teenagers in the world. She further secured her bid to the Throwdown and will join teens from 28 states and five countries, including Brazil, Canada, Mexico and the Dominican Republic on Friday September 3, 2021.
