Bernice Jackson, 1931 - 2021

Funeral services for Bristow resident, Bernice Jackson, were held 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, in the Bristow Trinity Baptist Church. Rev. Cleophus Jordan officiated. Bernice was born in Bristow on May 23, 1931, to the late Tilmon Mason and Lular (Parker) Mason. She passed from this life in Bristow on July 6, 2021 at the age of 90 years, one month and 13 days. She was raised and educated in Bristow & had lived all of her life here. She married Wesley Jackson and they remained together until his death in 2011. Bernice had worked at Ms. Elaine’s Garment Factory. She was a member of the Church of God Evening Light Saints & the Lincoln Alumni Association. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents andhusband, she was preceded in death by siblings: Henrietta, Clifford, Viola, Tilmon, Sharon and Helen.

Her remaining family includes her children Willis andhusband, of New Jersey, Gail Cowans, of Bristow, Steve Jackson and wife Yvonne, of Collinsville, Diane Easterling and husband Tony, of Maryland, Kim Thaxton and husband Mark, of Broken Arrow; gandchildren: Tami. Terry. Tony. Mario, Monique, Clydell, Jr.. Steven, Jr., Stephanie, Sydney, Brianna, Jordan, Mark, Jr, Maya and Shelby; numerous great and great great grandchildren; sister: Earnestine Snell, of Kansas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
