The Bristow City Council met in its regular meeting Monday evening, approving the minutes from the last meeting and discussed approval of maintenance claims, capital improvement claims and payroll claims.
The board discussed and approved the re-appointment of Leroy Maroon and Clara Thomas to the Bristow Housing Authority Board. The term will expire in January 2024.
The board also discussed and approved letting the Mother Road Bike Riders to camp out at the city park on May 7 and May 8. The riders are having an event at the park during the Tabouleh Festival.
Janet Hamel gave a presentation to the board on the 2021-2022 Fiscal Year Budget both on the city side and the municipal side.
The board went into executive session to discuss the potential purchase and appraisal of land lo cated adjacent to the City of Bristow Waste water Treatment Plant. The property is owned by Kenneth and Inez Johnson.
On the hospital authority side of the meeting, the board approved the appointment of a Bristow Medical Center review committee. The committee will consist of Judd Johns, Mark Ihrig, Stacy Loeffler, David Roberts, Dr. Chip Cooper and Colby Wessell. Councilman Randy Witty made a motion to add Dr. Jason Remington to the committee. The board approved the motion. The committee will be responsible for looking over the Request for Proposals (RFP) for the new hospital, make recommendations to the city council on who they feel would do the best job at operating the new hospital. Once the recommendations are in, the board will then decide who out of the committees recommendations would be best at running Bristow's new hospital and who would do best at fullfilling the needs of the community.
