Bristow FFA Spring accomplishments

The Bristow FFA is excited to announce the success of its members from this spring semester of 2021. Many of the chapter’s members have been active in activities such as speeches, meat judging, livestock judging, and quiz bowl. Bristow FFA had several members qualify for the district speech contest in Warner, Oklahoma on April 20th. Qualifying members include Abbey Roberts and Kinlee Snell who placed 1st and 2nd, respectively, in the 8th, 9th & 10th General Ag division; Corbin Long, 2nd place in the 8th Grade Exploratory Ag division; Abby Bell, 1st Place in Animal Science; Turner Longacre, 2nd Place in the Extemporaneous division; and Paike McNeil, 2nd Place in Ag Business. We wish these members luck as they continue on to the district contest and hope to progress to the state contest on April 23rd. Other members of the speech team include 8th Grade Ag Explorations: Zane Biswell, Allie Brewer, Alex Wilhite, and Kadence Varner (4th at regionals); FFA Creed: Ruby Bell, Jamison McNiel, and Travis Smith; 9th Grade Opportunities: Brianna Applegate (3rd Regionals).

The Bristow FFA has also been fortunate enough to have their Ag 1 Quizbowl team qualify for State Interscholastics on Saturday, April 24th. We would like to say a big congratulations to this team, who placed 4th overall in the Northeast Area contest. Members of this team include Taylor Wright, Ruby Bell, Jamison McNeil, and Travis Smith. The Bristow meats judging team will also be competing at the State Interscholastics at the FAPC facility. Members of this team include Kylie Hanson, Courtney Taylor, Abbey Roberts, and Garrett Manning. Throughout the spring, these groups have competed in numerous contests, including those located in Stillwater. The FFA members involved in these contests have been working hard and creating study sets in hopes of achieving first place at the Stillwater facilities on the 24th.

Bristow FFA is also looking forward to the 2021 State FFA Convention. This year, the Bristow FFA is proudly represented by three seniors who will be receiving their State FFA Degree: Garrett Manning, Paike McNeil, and state officer candidate Abby Bell. All of these individuals represent not only the face of the Bristow FFA but FFA as an organization in an astounding way. Their diligence and hard work have led them to success, and they have developed into some of the most pristine members of the community.

The Bristow FFA is also gearing up for the annual banquet which will take place on May 11. Though this banquet will be unlike any we have seen in the past, it is sure to be exciting and eventful. Applicants for Star Awards in the areas of Star Discovery, Star Greenhand, Star in Agribusiness, Star in Ag Placement, and Star Farmer will be announced; as well as the 2021-2022 chapter officers.
