The Boy Scout Troop #571 will be conducting a flag retirement for old and worn American flags at the Bristow VFW Post 3656 located at 37033 Veterans Memorial Dr. on the April 10, 2021 at 12 p.m. The community is invited to witness the ceremony that goes into retiring worn flags and if anyone has any flags that need to be retired, they are welcome to bring it with them or you can drop it off at the VFW post at any time.
If anyone would like a flag in their front yard, the Boy Scout Troop has a program where they will place a PVC pipe in the ground that will be used for the flag placement. This program comes with a 3 foot by 5-foot flag, a pole for the flag and a light that will shine on the flag itself. The Boy Scouts will place the flag in the customers yard for six national holidays and remove it at the end of the holiday. They will store the flags and maintain them throughout the year.
