Mike Wofford

Creek County Commissioner District 3

My name is Mike Wofford, and I am running for District 3 Creek County Commissioner. I have been married to my wife, Paula Wofford, for over twelve years. Together we have six amazing children (along with four granddaughters). Our children are Mary Councilman, Lindsey Shelton, Alyssa Farris, Lauren Looney, Andrew Gettle and Cody Wofford. Lauren, Andrew, and Cody all graduated from Bristow High School.

After being discharged from the U.S. Army in 1986, I began my career in the construction and heavy equipment business with a total of 33 years experience. During the last 7 years, I was a DBE, ODOT Contractor, supervised 25 employees and sustained a balanced budget of up to three million dollars annually. We maintained a zerodeficiency value during the last few years while working a public utility contract. My experience also includes serving on the ODOT Federal Highways DBE Advisory Board from 2018 – 2019.

I plan to bring experience, leadership, and organization abilities to my position as County Commissioner. The infrastructure of District 3 will be my main concern.

We all know the roads and bridges are deteriorated in District 3, so with this in mind lets move forward with a solution.

District 3 budget is generated by fuel sales tax and 1 penny county tax for operation and maintenance for your county infrastructure. I will work on grants on the state and federal levels. If District 3 has a Federal Emergency Declaration, I will apply for all FEMA Assistance. I would like to see high vehicle traveled roads asphalted or at least chip-n-seal as budget allows. With my 33 years of road and dirt construction experience, I will bring District 3 road maintenance to a whole new level. Transparency will be a priority when I am elected County Commissioner. I will be a working Commissioner - unlocking and locking the doors. You will see me out & about in our district & I will be available to answer my phone to address your emergencies & concerns. In the January 2021 CD meeting, it was stated that the redistricting should be finalized in January 2022. So with that said, I believe district 3 road miles will be reduced to approximately a 400 mile range. This will make District 3 more manageable. At this time, we are sitting at around 550-600 miles of maintenance obligations. Below are the concerns that I will begin addressing the day I take office.

• Budget

• Infrastructure (bridges, roads & drainage)

• Grant Programs (State & Federal)

• Road Maintenance Schedule

• Employee & Equipment Safety Programs

• Employee Training and Accountability

• Equipment & Vehicle Maintenance

• Surplus old and unusable equipment • Yard & shop house cleaning

• Yard & shop house cleaning

I would be honored to have your vote on April 6, 2021, and to serve as your new District 3 Creek County Commissioner!
