On Monday, March 1, 2021, students received a day out of school in order for the teachers at Bristow Public Schools to receive their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Across the state, teahers are being vaccinated in order to help stop the spread of the virus.
To date 546,004 people have received their prime dose with 293,397 who have completed both doses. It was announced Tuesday that Johnson and Johnson has come up with a one dose vacccine that is 85 percent effective with a 100 percent rate of keeping you out of the hospital or of dying from the disease. With all of the new variants of the virus, the health department is hoping to get millions of Americans vaccinated as soon as possible. As of Tuesday, Bristow has seen a total of 901 cases, since a year ago when the first case of the virus was found in the United States and the pandemic began. To date Bristow has had 24 deaths.
