The Bristow community is getting hit hard with the corona virus, seeing a spike in cases over the last week. As of Tuesday, Jan. 19, the community has seen a total of 772 since this pandemic began last March. In just a week, there has been a rise of 56 cases and a total of 17 residents have lost their lives. The virus shows no sign of slowing down and now there has been a new strain of the virus reported in several states. This strain is reported to be more deadly than the first.
If cases continue to rise in the community, Bristow will soon have a quarter of its population either infected with this disease or loosing their lives to it. Are we going to win this war against this pandemic? It will take every resident doing their part by wearing a mask, practicing social distancing, washing their hands and getting vaccinated.
To date, Creek County is reporting 5,208 cases with 81 deaths. Oklahoma is currently reporting 358,374 cases and 3,037 deaths.
