An injury collision occurred, Thursday, on Teel Road at Timber Hill Drive, one and a half miles from Sapulpa. A 2013 Toyota Tacoma driven by Alexander Cogburn, age 21, of Sapulpa was traveling east bound on Teel Road when his vehicle departed the roadway, for unknown reasons, striking an embankment and a fence. Cogburn was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident. He was taken by Creek County EMS to St. John's Hospital, in Tulsa, admitted in stable condition.
On Monday, Barbara Deckard, age 75, lost her life when her car was struck by a freight train. Dekard was driving a 2017 Ford Escape on Creager Road, five miles north of Beggs, when she collided with a Burlington North Santa Fe train around 12:30 p.m. Deckard was pronounced at the scene. No one on he train was hurt. The accident is still under investigation.
