The Bristow Historical Society, Inc. is making some changes to the annual Tabouleh Festival held on the second Saturday of May each year. For the last four years, the volunteers at the depot have operated the festival which brings in thousands of visitors each year. The festival has grown to be one of the most popular events in Oklahoma. Unfortunately, due to lack of volunteers, the Historical Society can no longer operate the festival. The good news is that the Lions Club has stepped in to take over the festival so it will continue for all to enjoy.
The museum volunteers are not leaving Main Street, however. Instead, they are expanding the events by adding a two-day car show which will be hosted by the Bristow Historical Society in conjunction with Southern Plains Mopar. All proceeds will go to restore and relight our amazing Chrysler Tower sign which has sat dark since the early 1950’s.
On May 12, 2023, visitors can enjoy a Swap Meet/Cruise In and on Saturday, May 13, 2023 you can expect to see not only the Swap Meet and Car Show but also Drag Racing? The historical society hopes this event grows annually as interest is very high among car enthusiasts because this will be the only car show in this part of the US during that time frame.
The historical society is currently seeking sponsors for the car show as well as providing an opportunity to sponsor different trophy classes for the car show winners. If you would like details on how to become a sponsor for the car show event, please email us at contactus@bristowhistory.org or call the depot at 918-367-9335. This is a great opportunity to get your name or logo in front of lots of people during our SAVE THE SIGN Car Show 2023. More information about the car show event can be found at this website: Home (southernplainsmoparfest. com) This will be a great time way to connect with thousands of visitors and locals who will enjoy Bristow on the second weekend of May, 2023 in Bristow. Best of all, 100% of the funds raised during this event by the historical society will go to preserving and relighting the Chrysler Tower sign. Let’s make it happen.
