Bristow will be booming with fun activities this weekend as the community celebrates its 35th Wildflower Fun Run and 5K Run, along with the Tabouleh Festival. Added to the festivities this year and hosted by the City of Bristow and the Bristow Historical Society is the Mopar Drag Racing/Swap Meet starting on Friday, May 12. This is a fundraising event, with part of the proceeds going to help relight the old Chrysler Sign, which hasn't seen light in decades. With so many events taking place, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
Be aware that some road closures will be in effect both Friday and Saturday. On May 12 and May 13, Rte 66 near Crown Auto down to Country Club Drive (369th) will be closed to thru traffic from 9:30 a.m. until dark on Friday, May 12 and from 9 a.m. until dark on Saturday, May 13. Beginning at 6 a.m. on Saturday, Main Street from Fourth to 10th Street will be closed and again at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Main Street from Fourth to 11th Street. The Wildflower Route or the west side of town will be blocked off during the run to allow for the safety of all the runners and bystanders watching the race. The Bristow PD is asking the community and all visitors to plan their route accordingly. Most importantly, be kind and understanding. Enjoy the day in the town of Bristow, Oklahoma.
