Loving Hearts of Route 66 is celebrating their Grand Opening on Saturday, October 14th and they truly have something to celebrate.
“When we first looked at the building, the mortgage had defaulted and back taxes were three years behind.” Dove shared,“The old Elephant Quonset Hut on Route 66 built in 1942 was about to go the Auction Block, I was told by the officials at the Creek County Courthouse. ” So, Dove and her team of volunteers worked hard, sold things in the Thrift Shop, and now the entire building is completely debt free, mortgage and all.
“I couldn't have done it without such great volunteers, including neighbors, Richard, Louise and Mary, all who live next to the Quonset. And Thank You so much to all of the local folks that donated goods to sell at our Thrift Shop.”
Loving Hearts is a 501-C3 organization dedicated to help folks in Substance Abuse and Recovery, Anger Management, Suicide Prevention, Parolees, Prisoners, and just any one needing a helping hand.We host meetings every Monday night with supper at 6, then focus on recovery.
We are opening the building all day long Saturday the 14 th, with live music, testimonies, a Bike Show at noon, awards and Dedication of the building at 2 pm, and much more. Our founder of Loving Hearts Ministry, Bear Morgan, who served 22 years in prison as an adult, and passed away 20 years ago, loved Root Beer Floats, so we are serving them free at 3:00pm until supplies are gone.
Also on the 14th , at 6 pm we will have live music, and our evening guest speaker will be Reggie Manual of Fort Worth, Texas. Reggie was a personal friend of Bear Morgan's and of the original Loving Hearts Ministry. Reggie was incarcerated for over 20 years for murder, and shares his story of how God brought him out of prison to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ. Reggie Manual will also be speaking on Sunday morning at New Life International Worship Center, 325 E. 10th , Bristow, with Pastor Eric Parker. The public is invited to attend.
