A fatality collision occurred Thursday afternoon around 3:54 p.m. ten miles south of Bristow on Hwy 48 south of 341st Street. Estle Roach, age 66, from Bristow, was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Colorado, along with a 14 year old passenger, Roach's son. Both Roach and his son were pinned in the vehicle for approximately two hours before being extracted with extraction tools by the Bristow Fire Department and the Welty Fire Department. Both victims were pronounced at the scene by Creek County EMS. The cause of the accident is still under investigation. The OHP report states that the air bags did deploy but neither Roach or the passenger were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
The juvenile was a student at Bristow Middle School. According to Bristow Public Schools Facebook page, counseling has been set up at the school for anyone who may need it.
