A fatality collision occurred on the Turner Turnpike east of Kellyville. A 2006 Ford Five Hundred, driven by Rodrigo Tobles-Almedia, age 43 of Tulsa along with passengers Jaylor Vallecillo-Garcia, age 27, also from Tulsa, and 27 year old, Wiston Lopez-Carrazco, from Tulsa.
The Ford was traveling westbound on the Turner Turnpike when for unknown reasons the driver came to a stop. A 2019 Freightliner, driven by Meing Qi, age 50, of San Gabriel, California was unable to stop his vehicle in time and struck the Ford Five Hundred. Almedia, driver of the Ford, was pinned for an unknown amount of time before being extracted by Sapulpa Fire Department.
Almedia was pronounced at the scene, along with one passenger, Vallecllo-Garcia. The second passenger, Lopex-Garrazo was transported by Creek County EMS to St. Francis in Tulsa, admitted in critical condition. The driver of the freightliner was not injured.
Another accident occurred near Chandler. Royce Baker, age 44, of Chandler, was driving a 2022 Polaris UTV when for unknown reasons an accident occurred sending Baker by Life Flight to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Baker was admitted in critical condition.
