A lot of events are taking place over the next week and fun entertainment for the entire family to enjoy.
The Creek County Fall Fair kicks off on Sept 21 and runs through Sunday, September 24, with exhibits, livestock showings, carnival, arts and crafts, concerts, tractor pulls and a rodeo. The carnival will be set up with various good eats and rides. This year’s rides will include the Spider, Zipper, Merry-Go-Round, Tilt a Whirl, Sizzler, Gator, G.I. Joe, Train, Bumper Cars and several more. Wrist bands are available for $30 each, Thursday through Saturday. Individual ride tickets can be purchased for $1 each.
There will be a rodeo on Thursday evening starting at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6 p.m.) The gate fee is $7, children 4-11 $5 and children under three are free. Rodeo events will be bareback and ranch bronc riding, tie-down calf roping, ladies breakaway roping, ladies barrel racing, team roping, bull riding junior barrel racing and pee wee barrel racing. Not only will there be tractor pulls, but on Saturday, Sept 23 a car show will begin at 10 a.m. Free concerts will be available on both Friday and Saturday evenings.
On Friday, Sept. 22, the Culpepper and Merriweather Circus will move into Bristow to put on a show for the community. There will be two showings under the Big Top, one at 5 p.m. and another at 7:30 p.m. The circus is sponsored by the Bristow Fraternal Order of Police #141. Part of the proceeds will go towards the Fraternal Order of Police.The Big Top will be set up in the softball field across from the swimming pool.
On Sept. 29 – 30, the Southern Plains Mopar will host a car show and drag racing, along with a swap meet on Friday, Sept. 29 and Saturday, Sept. 30 in Bristow from 10 a.m. to sunset. The open car show will be held Saturday fom 8 a.m. 3 p.m with all makes and models. The awards program will be at 3 p.m. that day. Also on Saturday, a fishing tournament will be held at Lake Massena. Prizes will be given for the most fish, total weight and heaviest fish. The final weigh in will be at 2 p.m. A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to the Bristow First Responders.
