Registration for the 2021 "Click It or Ticket" campaign in Oklahoma is now open.
"Click It or Ticket" is a nation-wide enforcement campaign to remind people to wear their seat belts. This highly visible seat belt and car seat enforcement period is set to begin on May 24 and run through June 6, covering the busy Memorial Day holiday weekend.
In 2019, 59.2 percent of all vehicle fatality victims were not using safety belts or child restraint devices. Among the 33,678 people injured in crashes in Oklahoma in 2019, 2,456 were not restrained.
“Past ‘Click It or Ticket’ campaigns have shown how helpful it can be to our overall goal of getting people in Oklahoma to buckle up before they hit the road,” Oklahoma Highway Patrol Lieutenant Chris Liles. Lt. Liles serves as the Statewide Occupant Protection Enforcement Coordinator for the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office.
The 2021 Click it or Ticket campaign will start May 24 and continue until June 6.
Creek County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in this event to make our roads and highways safer.
