A semi collision occurred on Monday morning, Feb. 24, around 3:30 a.m. on the turnpike near Bristow.The semi was loaded with 27K in weight of auto parts. The driver of the truck fell asleep and veered off the road causing the semi to crash near a construction zone. The trailer blocked most all of the eastbound lane while the cab went into the work area. Traffic was rerouted thru Bristow, yet some were caught in the middle of the crash and had to wait until the road was cleared. It took two large, heavy wreckers to remove the cab and trailer from the roadway.
The driver sustained no injuries but it was reported that he was driving under a suspended license.
