Hawg Wild Toy Run a great success

The annual Hawg Wild Toy Run was held Saturday. The event had a great turnout, collecting two truck beds full of toys to be donated to Bristow Social Services and Bristow Headstart to help put a smile on less fortunate area children for the holidays.

Lauria and Ashley's Law takes effect November 1

That's the date House Bill 1001 takes effect.The bill, authored by Rep. Steve Bashore, R-Miami, adds accessory to murder in the first or second degree to the list of crimes requiring an offender to serve 85% of their prison sentence before being eligible for consideration for parole.
