This year the Bristow community will celebrate the 35th annual Wildflower Run on Saturday, May 14. The fun filled, eventful day begins with the Fun Run, which is a 1K run, followed by the 5K Run.
Local runners, along with runners from all over, come to participate in this 3.1 mile run. Some are repeat runners, who attend the Wildflower Run yearly.
Each year someone is selected and the run is dedicated to that person. A t-shirt is then designed with that person in mind. This year Eunice Lawson was selected, but unfortunately Lawson passed away on March 11, 2022 at the age of 93.
Lawson moved to Bristow, along with her family in 1965. She and her family ran Lawson's Grocery for years. She was a big influence in the community, helping others when they were in need, even not charging for groceries from her store. Even though Lawson is no longer with us, she is still being honored at the run.
