You once belie ved in Santa, the Easter bunny, and the tooth fairy! Do those early visions of nightlyvisitorsstillc apture your heart? Probably not.
What has changed? Evidence! There isn’t any reality in our childhood acceptance of those myths. They are only fables, children’stales. Some think of God this same way.
What do you believe? Many are unsure about God being real. Others are certain that God is the most powerful, eternal Person in the universe. Is He merely a mythical crutch for weak people? Some say that God is personally interested in you. But, what if it’s true?
The Bible tells us many of God’s attributes. We can read about His miracles. God has given wealth to many, and He gave wisdom to Solomon. He destroyed countless individuals and nations when they sought the favor of false gods and disrespected thetrueGod! The God of the Bible has shown mercy. He has also displayed His righteous judgments against ungodly men and women. But prior warnings came through His prophets. What do you think about it? But, what if it’s true?
Please open your Bible to 1 Johnchapter4. Oneyoung man had it all: a good home, a pretty girlfriend, a good job that he enjoyed, and other life amenities. But he wasn't happy. He was empty. The young man didn't know why he was living. “Why am I here?”
Then someone told him about God’s love for him. He couldn't believe it, not after all he’d done. But, what if it’s true?
“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him” (1 John4:9). “This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins” (1 John 4:10). The young man heard that in Jesus he would find true life! All the times he shook his fist at God, yet God still showed His love. God wants to free each of us from all of our sins!
“This is how we know that we live in Him and He in us: He has given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the S avior of the world. And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God lives in him” (1 John4-13-14,16).
