A fatlity collision occurred Sunday around 1 p.m. in the afternoon on the Turner Turnpike westbound at mile marker 214, one mile west of Sapulpa.
A 2011 Ford Taurus driven by a male (name withheld pending notification) age 19, of Bartlesville, and a 2020 Volvo Semi truck driven by Parvinder Singh, age 26 of Greenwood, Indiana were both traveling the turnpike. The semi was parked on the outside shoulder of the turnpike. The Taurus was traveling westbound and for some unknown reason, departed the roadway striking the semi in the rear. The 19 year old was pinned in the vehicle for over an hour before being extracted by the Sapulpa Fire Department. He was pronounced at the scene. Seatbelts were in use in the Taurus and the airbags did deploy. Seatbelts did not apply to the semi as the driver was in the sleeper.
