Miss Oklahoma inspires District FCCLA students at Bristow’s Freeland Center

Miss Oklahoma 2025, Tessa Dorrell, delivered an inspiring keynote address at the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Bristow chapter event held at the Freeland Center. The gathering included members from the local Bristow chapter and nearby districts like Sapulpa, Kellyville, and Mannford, focusing on leadership skills in family and consumer sciences.

As a sports journalist and broadcaster, Dorrell shared personal insights on the emotional toll of ineffective leadership. She urged students to be observant and open-minded, recognizing that 'bad leaders can leave lasting scars.' Emphasizing proactive choices, she stated, 'Leadership isn't a title; it's an action and a choice to serve others.'

Dorrell encouraged attendees to push beyond comfort zones and embrace collaboration in all areas, fostering innovation through diverse teamwork. Her message aligned with her platform of empowering women in professional fields, resonating with the high schoolers aspiring to lead.
