In the warmth of the day in Bristow, Mrs. Wilsons Kindergarten students had just wrapped up their field trip to the Bristow Fire Department a few blocks away and were making their way back to school, chatting and skipping along the sidewalk.
As the group passed by City Hall, Mayor Wyatt and Chad stepped outside to check on a few city matters, when the mayor asked “Think we’ve got time for a quick break on the lawn?”
That was all it took. In no time, the front lawn turned into an impromptu playground. Cartwheels and other acrobats filled the green stretch of grass, transforming the manicured space into what looked like a giant, joyful gym mat. The young kids laughed as they showed off their moves and the mayor wasn’t about to be left out of the fun.
While Chad gave a few brave but wobbly attempts at a cartwheel, Mayor Wyatt took a more confident approach, showing the group how to hold a steady headstand. Cheers erupted as the students followed suit, some managing impressive balance and others toppling into giggles.
For a few carefree moments, the responsibilities of life gave way to the simple joy of childhood play. On this warm sunny Bristow afternoon, the City Court Lawn wasn’t just green grass, it was the heart of our community, alive with laughter.
