Kids, garden beds, and Bingo leading the way

The local Garden Club and Social Services are seeing strong community involvement as raised garden beds begin to take shape. Families, volunteers, 4-H members, and other community contributors have come together to prepare, fill, and organize the beds, creating a shared space focused on learning and hands-on participation.

In one hands-on gathering led by the Garden Club, community kids of different ages worked directly alongside members to get their hands into the raised beds, planting seeds, covering them with soil, and learning how to care for young plants. The raised beds made it easier for the children to reach, work together, and stay engaged throughout the process.

Leading many of these moments is Bingo, who helps guide the children with clear direction and encouragement. With a water hose in hand, Bingo demonstrates how to water the beds properly, showing the kids when and how much to water. The children were all able to participate together at the same time, contributing side by side as they worked through each step as a group.

Although activities have been few so far, there is a sense of hope as the raised beds develop into something meaningful. With continued involvement from the Garden Club, Social Services, 4-H, and other community members, the space is gradually becoming a place where people come together in service, investing time and care into something that can grow and benefit the wider community over time.
