Ladies Bunco Night
This evening, June 6, Ladies Bunco will hold their Bunco for Blessings game night with fun, blessings, and devotion in mind. Bunco for Blessings is held each month at the Center of Hope at 102 North Main Street. Bunco begins at 7 p.m. and costs $5 per person to play. Proceeds from the night’s play will bless the new city pool, the Pirate Plunge.
Business Celebrates New Location
The Old Crow Workshop and Showroom celebrated Monday, June 3, the grand opening of their business in a new building and location with a ribbon cutting. Owners Frank and Melody Wolbert reopened their business in a building that has been closed on Bristow’s Main Street, reportedly, for more than a decade. The store is now located at 123 South Main Street.
Election Held Tuesday
Creek County voters were asked to fill a board position with the Creek County Conservation District on Tuesday, June 4. Candidates for the position included Excell LaFayette Jr. and J.E. Graves. Results were not available by time of print.
BPD Fundraising for Fireworks Celebration
With Bristow’s annual Independence Day and Sam Varner Memorial Fireworks Celebration only one month away, the police department continues to seek financial support in the form of donations to deliver a memorable show once again this year. As a reminder, donations may be made at the Bristow Police Department and City Hall. Checks must be made payable to City of Bristow with “fireworks” clearly noted on the memo line.
Construction on South Main Progresses
Construction on the new sanctuary of the Bristow Holiness Church has progressed noticeably in the last couple of weeks as the steel frame was erected, granting observers a glimpse into the enormity of the expansion. Many onlookers expressed awe at the structure’s size and hope that it bodes well for the community. Meanwhile, Dak’s Market, also at 1st Avenue and South Main Street, now has its concrete pads poured, framework erected, and the awning in place above where gas pumps will be placed.
Bristowans Craving Donuts
Why is it we always want something we cannot have? It is human nature, I suppose. That said, many Bristowans find themselves craving donuts now. Why? Donut Palace is closed til around the end of June while its owners take their annual vacation. Upon their return, donuts are sure to be in tight supply as business booms when the ravenously hungry are finally able to get their hands on some delicious donuts once again.
