Holiday Break
Staff and volunteers of Bristow Social Services received a muchdeserved break for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays as the organization closed from Christmas Eve through January 3.
Coat Drive
SpiritBank’s Bristow location wrapped up its gently used coat drive on December 31. Coats received were to be donated to Bristow Social Services for dissemination to those in need.
New Year’s Eve Bash
C & J Kountry Fixin’s and CJ’s Bar hosted a New Year’s Eve Bash on December 31. Attendees were treated to entertainment, a variety of activities, and photo opps with friends and family as they rang in the new year.
Holiday Revelry & Safe Travels
As New Year’s approached, Bristow Police Department and Chief Raney encouraged everyone not to drink and drive. Instead, they offered safe rides for those who chose to consume alcohol while celebrating the new year. BPD and Chief Raney invited anyone who needed safe transportation within city limits to call the department for a ride.
School Resumes!
After 3 weeks of Christmas vacation, students returned to classes on Tuesday morning. Bristow Public Schools previously departed for Christmas Break on the afternoon of Wednesday, December 18. Both students and their parents expressed a mix of excitement, relief, and dismay with school in session once again.
SAIL at the Library
Tuesday marked the beginning of the Staying Active and Independent for Life exercise program at the Bristow Public Library. For one hour, beginning at 10 a.m. every Tuesday and Thursday, the free exercise program will be offered. For more information, contact Terry Grissom at 405-258-2640.
Bunco for Blessings
January’s Bunco for Blessings will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, at the Center of Hope at 102 North Main Street.
Ladies should bring new or gently used blankets to play. The blankets will be donated to homeless shelters.
