How Will You Face the Coming Year?

“Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burden, the God who is our salvation” (Psalm68:19).

How will you face next year? The truth in this Psalm is still valid.

Are you choosing a negative outlook, seeing illness, or loneliness until death? No one can know with certainty what will happen in the next minute, let alone the next year.

Can you face life with optimism and joy? Read on.

Many people have decided to live with positive expectations. How do you choose to face life?

What kind of day would you have if you decided to focus on what you don’t have, rather than what you do have? When you are thinking too much about your problems, you erase joy and hope.

Looking at the first few words of the Bible verse above, what kind of future can you expect to have? What kind of day will tomorrow be if you choose to face it thanking God? When you remember all the blessings you enjoy, your day will be joyful! The Lord wants you to remember that He “daily bears our burden.”

Jesus says this to you, “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided to you. So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:33-34).

Some studies indicate that people who worry about life’s obstacles fill the hospitals. The over-anxious person would rather try to carry their own burdens than to seek God. They don’t pray to the One who can really help them.

Look again at the Bible verse which begins this article. Those last six words from Psalm 68:19 reveal that God offers you what no other can: hope and peace! He alone gives salvation to the hurting. God wants to bless you, taking away your suffering and sins. God wants to give you assurance for the future!

“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all people. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, think about these things” (Philippians 4:48). Give Jesus your life! You can then truly rejoice. It’s your choice!
