Gollihare speaks at Oklahoma Farm Bureau meeting

Oklahoma Farm Bureau is Oklahojma’s largest Farm Organization representing farmers and ranchers and rural Oklahoma. Each of the 77 Oklahoma Counties hold an Annual Meeting where the Farmers and Ranchers meet to get updates on what their counties have done for the year and to also get political updates and to discuss and pass resolutions . Creek Count Farm Bureau held its Annual Federation Meeting September 11, at the Creek County Fairgrounds enjoying a meal provided by the Board of Directors , Bob Webb, President, Kenny Fisher, Vice President, Joey Varner, Secretary and Dwight Luther,Treasure,. Steer Inn of Mannford served a delicious buffet meal and Phyllis Holcomb, Women’s Leadership Chairman provided a program about Generational Farmers and Ranchers from Creek County.

Farms and Ranches highlighted were the Rocking G Ranch - Boodt Family of 3 generations from Bristow, from thn Mannford area the Don Frailey and Sons Ranch and Show Pig Operation of 4 generations,, Varner and Varner from Bristow with 5 generations, H & H Holcomb Ranch with 5 generations from the Kellyville area and the Enlow Ranch from the Sapulpa area of 4 generations. To complete the program a film of Women’s Leadersnhip Activities was highlighted.

Senator Gollihare updated the audience on legislative activities of interest to the Creek County Community. District 9 Director Jim Meeks and Cindy Schonecke Women’s Leadership State Committee Member District 9 gave updates and said their farewells due to expiring terms. Introduction of guest included Cree County Commissioners Newt Stephens, District 1, Jarrod Whitehouse, District 2 and Zack Moore District 3, County Assessor Hailey Anderson and Robin Whitehouse.

County Secretary Anita Osburn handled the guest sign in and welcoming sheet as well as preparing all business papers. Carmelia Johnson Creek Coujnty Women’s Committee member read thne Memorial Service. Creek County 4-H’ers Javen Greggo and Micah Greggo were Honor Guards presenting the US and Oklahoma Flags, Natalie Woods Kel- lyville FFA played the National Anthem on the Violin, Annie Slater also from the Kellyville FFA presented the National FFA Creed. Paige Freeman Kellyville FFA and AnnieSlater were In charge of the dessert and drink table. Approximately seventy plus members were present.

Resolutions were read and presented for approval from the county resolution committee member Phyllis Holcomb and voted on for approval. One member of the audience added a resolution concerning solar power concerns, All resolutions were passed and will be revie wed at the State Farm Bureau Convention. Bob Webb was re-elected to another term as Board Member and representatives were elected to attend as delegates to the State Convention. The meeting was adjourned but before adjournment many Door Prizes were handed out such as cattle sticks, flowers, hats, and cash. We, the Creek County Farm Bureau Board look forward to another year of serving our Community with educational programs.
