Back in Oct. 2025, the Drumright Police asked for assistance from the Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) to investigate allegations of sexual misconduct. The Drumright Police had received allegations of both sexual and physical abuse involving the agriculture teacher at Drumright Schools, Bobby Gene Pruitt, age 63, of Bristow. Two students had come forward with the allegations that Pruitt had made inappropriate contact with them.
After the allegations were made, Pruitt was placed on administrative leave around Oct. 6, 2025. On Oct. 29, 2025, Pruitt resigned from his teaching position and turned in his teaching license to the Oklahoma State Board of Education.
Pruitt had been an ag teacher at several Oklahoma School districts for 39 years and was named Teacher of the Year in April 2025.
After an extensive investigation, it was determined that Pruitt did indeed make inappropriate contact with the students and a warrant was issued for Pruitt's arrest. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol along with the US Marshall's Service arrested Pruitt in Stroud. Pruitt was taken into custody on Jan. 31, 2026 on alleged allegations of child molestation and abuse. Pruitt was booked into Creek County Jail on a $1,000,000.00 bond. Charges include two counts of alleged child sexual abuse, two counts of Lewd Molestation, two counts of alleged child abuse, and one count of assault and battery.
