On Friday, Oct. 18, a shooting took place at Schlegal Park in Tulsa near West 53rd and South 40th West 53rd Street. A 31 year old man was tragically shot and killed.
According to reports, several rounds were fired at the victim, killing him. The suspect ran from the scene, K-9’s and drone’s were used to search. Evidence showed the suspect to have on certain color clothing and fleeing in a white Chevrolet Tahoe that was parked nearby.
On Saturday, Oct. 19, after a diligent investigation, including video surveillance, statements from witnesses and help from the Bristow Police Department, a search warrant was served on a residence in Bristow. During the search the police were able to locate like clothing to what was seen in the video surveillance and a gun that matched evidence they found at the crime scene.
The video surveillance showed the suspect wearing a bright blue sweatshirt, dark blue athletic pants, black tennis shoes and a black dorag along with a white mask. He approached the victim, firing multiple shots.The articles of clothing were found at the residence.
Dwight Lee Busby II,age 23, of Bristow, was taken into custody and booked on alleged first degree murder charges.
Police say that after Busby was taken to Tulsa County Jail, he allegedly confessed to the crime and allegedly told police he had a grudge against the victim from two years prior that arose from an incident of laced marijuana. Busby was booked into Tulsa County Jail on First Degree Murder charges with a bond set at one million dollars
