When Bristow Tag closed in August of 2021, most Bristowans expressed dismay at having to travel out of town to another tag agency to complete necessary business. However, many locals found themselves lucky enough to stumble upon Angela Marlow’s Drumright Tag Agency.
Originally from Tulsa, Angela described how she came to call Drumright home and how her life played out before becoming a tag agent—an occupation she loves. She said her parents moved the family to Drumright around the time she was thirteen. She went on to graduate from Drumright High School in 1999 before attending UCO and studying photojournalism. She also reportedly attended OSU Okmulgee, where she earned a degree in photography. After moving back to Tulsa, she described working as a photographer for Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, photographing events and concerts. She moved back to the Drumright area around eight years ago.
After working as a photographer and moving back to Drumright, Angela stumbled into the tag agent business by way of a family friend. He owned the Drumright Tag Agency prior to her. Because he was preparing to retire, Angela was able to acquire months of free training in the business before applying to become an agent. For the last five years, she has owned and run Drumright Tag Agency, LLC, along with her husband.
As customers walk into the business, they are greeted by the smiling, sparkly personality of the
See Tag Agency, Page Three couple’s youngest child, Charley, who they have deemed their “ambassador”. Having met Charley, I cannot help but agree and smile myself, recalling her gleeful giggles and twinkling eyes as she played peek-a-boo with me from behind a small table. While more reserved, their eldest child, Knox, shared a timid kindness as he greeted approaching customers. If anything, being treated like family only enticed customers to repeatedly return.
Following Bristow Tag’s closure, Angela noted that her business increased as more Bristowans traveled to Drumright to fulfill their business and personal tag and licensure needs. Despite not erecting signs or specifically advertising in Bristow, she continues to experience increased Bristow business as word-of-mouth spreads about the kind, friendly, and courteous manner in which she and her husband conduct business and interact with their customers.
For their part, Angela said she most loves meeting and connecting with her customers regardless of where they live. Of Bristow, she said, “We really like Bristow people. Everyone has been very nice. In fact, we applied for the Bristow Tag Agency. We don’t know if we will get it, but we really appreciate the people of Bristow and their business. We want to serve Bristow more locally and get to know more of you in the beautiful town you all call home.” Like other tag agencies, Angela offers standard services including copy, fax, tag, title, license renewal, Real ID, and notary; however, she does not offer Pikepass through Drumright Tag Agency. Drumright Tag Agency is located at 330 East Broadway Street in Drumright. They can be reached by email at marlowtagagent@ gmail.com, by phone at (918) 352-9829, and by fax at (918) 729-8028.
