Christmas glow on Route 66: Bristow’s Tree lighting brings holiday cheer

Along historic Route 66, the Bristow Christmas Tree glowed brilliantly as crowds gathered after sundown for the 2025 Tree Lighting Ceremony. The evening carried a warm sense of cheer, marking the beginning of the holiday season and bringing renewed energy to the heart of Bristow. Families filled the sidewalks, soaking in the festive atmosphere that blended hometown charm with holiday excitement.

Reindeer visits, cheerful face painting, and steaming hot chocolate added to the magic of the night. Local artist Andi Levin, whose creative touch has brightened Main Street in recent weeks, spent the evening transforming children’s faces with festive designs ranging from reindeer to sparkling snowflakes. Bristow FCCLA students helped keep everyone warm and smiling by serving hot chocolate and cookies.

The celebration also extended to the storefronts along Main Street, where local shops like Mail This Ship That joined in the merriment. Staff waved to passersby, welcoming families with holiday greetings and festive window displays that added even more sparkle to the night.

As anticipation built, Route 66 Midpoint Corridor representative Kristin Weaver led the crowd in the official countdown. When the final number was shouted, the tree sprang to life in a dazzling burst of colorful lights, signaling the true start of the holiday season in Bristow.
