Statewide election activity officially begins at 8 a.m. Wednesday, APRIL 1, when the candidate filing period opens, the Secretary of the Creek County Election Board said today.
Candidates for state offices file with the Secretary of the State Election Board. Candidates for county offices file with the Secretary of the County Election Board.
Creek County Election Board Secretary Vicki Martin said the following offices are expected to be filled this year: US Senator - full term; US House of Representatives - District 1 and 3; Governor; Lt. Governor; Attorney General; State Treasurer; Superintendent of Public Instruction; State Auditor and Inspector; Labor Commissioner; Corporation Commissioner; District Attorney; State Senate Districts 8 and 12; State House of Repesentatives - Districts 24, 29, 30, 35 and 68; County Treasurer; County Assessor; County Commissioner - Dis trict 1 and 3.
The filing period continues Thursday, April 2 and closes at 5 p.m. Friday, April 3.
Filing forms and information for county offices may be obtained by contacting the Creek County Election Board at 918224-3529 or creekcounty@elections. ok.gov. The Creek County Election Board is located at 230 E. Hobson Ave. Sapulpa, OK 74066 and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
