On Feb. 5, 2026, at approximately 17:45 the Bristow Police Department was advised of a vehicle travelling westbound in the northbound lanes on Highway 66 near 211 th St.
Officers located a Silver Dodge Avenger driving erratically almost striking the overpass where the Turner Turnpike goes over Highway 66. Officers were involved in a short pursuit before the vehicle came to a stop in the roadway. Officers blocked the stopped vehicle with patrol cars fearing the driver might attempt to drive off further endangering other motorists.
The suspect was then taken out of the vehicle and placed in handcuffs. Officers stated there was a strong odor associated with alcoholic beverages coming from the suspect.
Officers patted down the suspect and located a magazine loaded handgun in his waistband. Inside his right shoe officers located a magazine for a different handgun that located in the suspect’s vehicle. Also located in the vehicle were multiple containers of beer in all parts of the vehicle.
The suspect was identified as Antonio Cruz. A records check of Cruz showed that he had previously been removed to Mexico and had reentered the United States Illegally.
