Bristow Pirates Football team gets a new head coach

Bristow Purple Pirates Football Team has a new head coach. Billy Sexton, will replace Chris Cole, who returned to Bixby as an assistnant coach after one season with the Pirates and a 7-5 season, winning their first round playoff game against Plainview.

Sexton brings with him 15 years experience in coaching. He is a native of Fort Worth, Texas, where he graduated Boswell High School in 2002. While at Boswell, Sexton was named all-state linebacker. He also played football at Mid-America Nazarene, where he was named NAIA Scholar Athlete in 2004. Sexton helped lead the Pioneers to a pair of Heart of America Conference championships with three NAIA playoffs. Later, Sexton coached at Southern Nazarene University and at Olathe Northwest in Kansas, Western Heights and El Reno. After graduating from MidAmerica, Sexton worked at Olathe Northwest High School as assistant coach with the offensive line and was a strength and conditioning coach. For the past two seasons, he has been coaching at Little Axe.
