Members were introduced to Ireland by answering role call of whether they were of Irish decent. All seven members present said they were part Irish, with all also identifying various other ethnic groups. This included but not limited to: Germany, Black Dutch, English, Scottish, Polish, Native American, ect. Members also shared family stories of ancestors being in the Revolutionary War, Civil War, ect.
Norma Carman, V.P. and Leader Lesson Presenter, her presentation by showing pictures of various places in Ireland. Norma introduced Ireland by saying Ireland is separate from Britain, Norma added that Ireland is composed of Republic Ireland and Northern Ireland. Norma emphasized that it has exquisite landscapes, with rolling hills and landforms, and is about 390 feet above the Atlantic Ocean. In addition to Ireland having a causeway, it has the fourth greatest natural wonders of the world. The climate is mild, moist and the temperature is warmed from the water.
Norma showed pictures of Ireland's 'The Irish Pubs' in Dublin and songs using the word 'blarney'. Norma added that among the rich diverse foods are Irish Stew(made with lamb meat) and 'Soda Breads'. Norma concluded the presentation on Ireland by reading the 'Irish Blessing' poem.
In addition to the above, Bristow OHCE group reported on the livestock show concession, 'Jane's Household Hints' was using rubbing alcohol and vinegar as cleaning agents, and Kathy reporting on county activities, i.e. 'Make and Take.' Bristow OHCE also discussed hosting 'Family Ties' group next month.
