B-Town Grill’s first owners, Mike and Melinda Gordon, sold the eatery in July to Kenneth and Toni Buchanan, who held their grand opening on August 28. After purchasing the restaurant, the Buchanans elected to keep the name. Although it also remains in the same location with the same phone number, the business has a colorful, eclectic new look with a new menu, including some delicious new eats and treats with some B-Town favorites retained for diners. Additionally, Toni shared her gratitude for being able to retain and promote some of B-Town’s staff across the ownership change, including Jessica Garrett and Skylar Murphy.
The Buchanans grew up in the area and graduated from Bristow High School in 1975 and 1978. Chances are good, if you lived in the area or attended local schools around the same time, that you either knew them or a family member. Despite having lived much of their lives in Bristow, the Buchanans moved away for a time, leaving some to mistakenly believe they were gone for good. Fortunately for the community, the couple moved back in 2021—just in time to see BTown Grill be established and opened for business.
In fact, Toni worked for the Gordons at B-Town before purchasing it. As owners, Toni and Kenneth want to welcome the community in for a meal. Toni chuckled, saying “Come on down to B-Town!” and proclaiming it her newest favorite phrase. Truthfully, her quick wit and humor can draw a crowd. Tasty home cooking is a bonus. Plus, not only will choosing to have a delicious meal with BTown result in supporting a local business, but families will also find an expanding offering of fresh, homecooked foods in a family-friendly environment.
About Toni’s quick wit and humor, she was a former disc jockey for KSBI in Stillwater. Since moving back to Bristow, she created opportunities for locals to give gifts to others. One such opportunity was through the Mrs. Claus initiative. As for Kenneth, he serves as a substitute teacher for Bristow Public Schools in addition to fulfilling duties at the restaurant. The Buchanans plan to continue to invest in the community through B-Town as well with community projects and competitions to create a cleaner, more involved, better connected, and safer environment for Bristow’s residents, especially our children. It is, in part, their commitment to help create safe learning environments for young people that they the community through BTown as well with community projects and competitions to create a cleaner, more involved, better connected, and safer environment for Bristow’s residents, especially our children. It is, in part, their commitment to help create safe learning environments for young people that they enjoy offering job opportunities to local adolescents of working age; however, Toni noted that she and Kenneth often learn more from them than they teach, especially with technology.
Pairing community with support of our younger residents and families, B-Town offers live streams of the Pirates’ varsity football games and extends open hours until 11 p.m. on home game nights. They also offer a special hamburger meal deal of 5 burgers for $20 on Friday nights. In the future, they hope to add a seal-a-meal type offering for customers to pick up sealed meals for reheating later. Menu curious future patrons may peruse the new menu on the business’ Facebook page. One new offering is the portobello mushroom burger. Other new items include crispy and grilled chicken sandwiches and more. In the future, Toni will offer her own cheesecake as B-Town’s signature dessert, but she notes that she is still perfecting her recipe. She plans to add a few different dessert options in the future, too. Patrons may order a catfish dinner on Thursdays and Fridays with all-you-can-eat catfish on Saturdays—that is, until they have sold out of catfish.
Non-vegan vegetarians and gluten-free patrons can find some scrumptious foods as well, including salads, soups, sides, and crust-free, bunfree, or grilled chicken meats and weekday specials like the chicken salad stuffed tomato. Truly, any patron may find something to enjoy.
A new feature, B-Town has set weekday specials: Mondays— chicken alfredo, Tuesdays— chicken salad sandwiches or stuffed tomatoes, Wednesdays— cabbage rolls, Thursdays—lasagna, Fridays—stuffed bell peppers.
Regarding diners, Kenneth and Toni wish to thank veterans and first responders for their service in person and give them a 15% discount on their meals.
B-Town is located on the northeast corner of 1st Avenue and Oak Street, and its hours of operation are Mondays through Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Diners may dine in or pick up call-in orders. Cash or card is accepted as payment. Call 918807-5021 to place an order. Most importantly, and in Toni’s words, “Come on down to B-Town!”
