The long awaited renovation of the city pool has ended.Tuesday marked the Grand Opening of the new Pirate Plunge. The original grand opening was supposed to have been Saturday, June 8, but did not pass inspection on Friday, therefore the opening was delayed until items were done in order for the pool to pass the inspection process, which is very important for the safety of the area kids.Tara Mattox, pool manager, held a drawing for the opportunity to be the first persons to go down the large water slide and to have 30 minutes of swim time in the pool before the grand opening. The first place winner, and the one who gets first choice of the slides, yellow or blue) was Stephanie Rake and second place is Sarah Pinson.
The pool is open to the public seven days a week from 1 – 6 p.m., except on Sundays, the hours are 2 – 6 p.m.The daily admission is $5 per person, with two and under being free. Punch cards will be available for $80. That is a savings of 20 percent and each punch card will have 20 punches. All guests and swimmers, including non swimmers, who enter the pool must pay an admission.
After four years of patiently waiting the gorgeous pool is ready for you, so enjoy the summer months while visiting the Pirate Plunge.
