Bristow will host a musical festival next week. The Gospel Music Festival begins at 4 p.m. on Friday, June 10, 2022 at the amphitheater at Klingensmith Park. The festival will run until around 8 p.m. Local musical group Faith fultoo will be hosting the event. Johnathan Scroggs and The Peacemakers will be performing as guests. Additional musicians may also perform as the festival continues to grow.
In addition to the performing musical artists, local food and craft vendors will be present and will be opening for business around 3 p.m. Food vendors will offer Indian tacos, the tasty food stylings of Mamacitas Mexican Tacos, and Olivia’s for those who enjoy sushi. Restroom facilities will also be available for attendees.
The musical performers will offer several styles of Christian music from gospel to contemporary. Admission is free but love donations will be accepted and divided among the performers for their service. The nondenominational musical celebration is made possible through the dedicated efforts of local musicians, churches, and volunteers.
In fact, Bristowan Dixie Gentry came up with the idea when she desired to bring a fun, familyfriendly event to the community for locals to enjoy. Working dili gently with community members, churches, local faith leaders, and performers, Dixie noted that the group built a gospel music festival with a variety of musical styles, foods, and crafts to ensure there will be something that everyone of all ages can enjoy. “We want people to come out for the evening and just enjoy themselves. We’ve designed this festival to offer something for everyone and also support our local community. Come have fun with us!”
According to Dixie, the group hopes to build upon this first Gospel Music Festival, bringing many additional musical concerts and festivals, performers, and vendors to Bristow in the future. In fact, they are already working on another for October. For now, they hope the community simply enjoys the evening with them, good music, food, and socialization.
