“The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming…it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect…” (Hebrews 10:1-2).
God gave Moses the law on Mt. Sinai (please read Exodus 20). Yet, that law was “only a shadow.”
“How much more, then, will the blood of Christ… cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death… Christ is the mediator of a new covenant…he has appeared once for all…to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself…people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment… Christ was sacrificed once… and he will appear a second time…to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.” (Hebrews 9:1-4, 7-8, 10-12, 14-15, 22, 24, 26-28).
Are you “waiting for” Jesus? His death on the cross and His resurrection is our only hope. “…in fact the ministry Jesus has received…the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, since the new covenant is established on better promises (Hebrews 8:6).
Many accept a different gospel, but it’s not really another gospel (Galatians 1:68). There is only one gospel that can save your soul!
Forgiveness of your sins and eternal life in heaven with Jesus are only two “better promises” of Jesus’ “superior” new covenant.
The Old Covenant cannot promise you eternal forgiveness, nor can it give you eternal life in heaven.
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.
“For what the law was powerless to do…God did by sending his own Son…to be a sin offering…” (Romans 8: 1- 3).
“For if there had been nothing wrong with that first covenant, no place would have been sought for another” ( Hebrews 8: 7).
Jesus died so that you can live - free from your sins, free from the guilt of sin, and that you will live in heaven for all ETERNITY! Only in Jesus can you gain forgiveness of your sins (Acts 4:12). Jesus alone gives you hope!
“And Jesus was saying to them, “Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God after it has come with power” (Mark 9:1). Are you in His kingdom?
The kingdom that Jesus came to establish, and to die for, has arrived already! Following Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection we now have hope for this life and for the one to come!
But, don’t take anyone’s word for it; only take God’s Word for it! Search your Bible for the answer to your most important question “Am I saved through Jesus?”
