Reading your Bible and searching for answers, do you walk away with more questions than you received answers to?
Religious people have debated for centuries. They want an answer to one simple question—and there isn’t a simple answer: “Who is Jesus, really?”
How would you answer the question, “Who is Jesus, really?” Would you agree, “He was a kind man who helped others.” You might respond, “He was a great teacher of Bible truths.” You could accept what Peter says: “You know of Jesus…God anointed Him with… power…He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil...” (Acts 10:38).
Someone will declare, “Jesus was more than just a man. He healed hurting souls and even raised the dead!”
Jesus asked His disciples what people were saying about who He is: “And they said, 'Some say John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah, or one of the other prophets.
“But who do you say that I am?” Jesus asked them. Simon Peter answered, 'You are the Christ, the Son of the living God’” (Matthew 16:14-16).
Generations have wondered about this: “Who is Jesus, really?”
What does the Bible say? Philip said to Jesus, “Show us the Father.”
Jesus replied, “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also…and (you) have SEEN Him. Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me…but the Father, as He remains in Me, does His works.” Jesus said, “Philip, how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?…“Have I been with you for so long a time, and yet you have not come to know Me,Philip? The one who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?” ( John 14:8-10).
Who IS Jesus, really? To know more, please read John 15:1-2, 4-6.
“And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12) Jesus said, “The one who hates Me hates My Father also.” (Please see John 15:2224) Jesus gives the specific command - “…that you love one another.” ( John 15:17) “And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.’” (Matthew 28:18) If Jesus were just a man, He would not have “all authority” to command His disciples to obey His teachings.
