His church family didn’t know it. His wife and children were unaware of what was happening. He had no idea how serious it was, but it was about to be revealed!
He finally decided to consult with his doctor. Tests confirmed it. The diagnosis was cancer. By that time, all hope was lost. It was too late!
Placement into hospice was immediate. He had only a few weeks to see family. They each said their goodbyes. They watched him die!
What a sad, sudden, and painful way to end life. It happens often. Pain intensifies as disease continues its invasion. It’s too late! The damage is done. Refusing to acknowledge it won’t fix the problem!
Every day has pain—every day. The help is there, but is often ignored.
Sin in your life is like cancer! The Bible tells of King David’s struggles over sin. Read about his life in your own Bible. God pulled no punches when telling David’s deepest, darkest sins.
David committed adultery with his neighbor’s wife (see Exodus 20:14, 17). To hide the pregnancy, David murdered her husband.
The prophet, Nathan, told David about a rich man who stole the precious lamb of his neighbor. David’s anger against the rich man was met with these words: “You are that man!” (2 Samuel 12:7-9).
We then see his deep, sincere repentance. What did God do? He forgave David! God called David “a man after My own heart” (1 Samuel 13:13-14; Acts 13:21-22). Those aren’t the only sins David committed.
God was loving and forgiving toward David. Your sins can be forgiven, too!
David’s relationship with God reveals what you need to know. You have sinned against your Creatoar. Your sins put Jesus on the cross. Jesus died so you won’t have to. God will not remember your sins when you trust and obey HIm!
That’s good news! ““…the Lord will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain” (Exodus 20). So many use God’s name instead of a filthy word. Such worthless use of God’s Holy name brings His punishment! (Exodus 20:7).
You can live and die completely free from your sins. Sin can’t hold you in the grave when you are “in Christ.” God wants you in heaven, but not with your sins. In Jesus only can you know God’s forgiveness!
Please consider what the God of heaven thinks about you right at this moment. Are you really free from the shame and guilt of your sins? Have you repented? Are you “IN Christ”?
Look to Jesus for the forgiveness and freedom you need. Please do it before it’s too late!
