John wrote the Gospel bearing his name. He also wrote three epistles (letters). While a prisoner on the isle of Patmos, he wrote Revelation.
John assured all who are in Christ Jesus that hard times would one day end. Jesus has the final word!
Christians are saved and know God’s love. Please read the following Bible verses.
John writes what he witnessed regarding Jesus: “What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the Word of Life” (1 John 1:1-4). John witnessed the Lord Jesus!
John says that Christians have freedom from sin, but all can be freed from sin through Jesus.
“The message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light...if we walk in the Light…the blood of Jesus…cleanses us from all sin” (1 John 1:7-10). That word “cleanses” declares continuous action by the blood of Jesus! It’s the continual removal of sins.
Jesus becomes the Advocate for all who confess Him as Lord and Savior. As in a court of law, Jesus pleads our innocence. The judge proclaims, “Not guilty!” (1 John 2:1-2). Who is pleading for you? Only Jesus can make you sin-free!
“If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves... If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous… He will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:8-9). We need Jesus!
“By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments… whoever follows His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him: The one who says that he is in the Light and yet hates…the darkness has blinded his eyes.” John writes to the forgiven, “you know Him who has been from the beginning. I have written to you…The word of God remains in you, and you have overcome the evil one” (1 John 2:3-5, 9, 11, 14).
The love God has for you is real and alive. God IS love! “We love, because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19).
“No one who remains in Him sins continually; no one who sins continually has seen Him or knows Him” (1 John 3:6). When you come to know His love, repentance follows, and your life will change!
“The love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly” (Romans 5:1-11).
Are you ready to be forgiven of your sins through Jesus? Only He can do that for you!
