Mayors’ Corner

In May, the Department of Commerce reached out to the city regarding the opportunity to apply for unallocated ARPA funds. These funds, known as infrastructure for industry; were specifically intended for a location that could provide workforce, land, and transportation access.

The total amount available was approximately $29.8 million, to be divided among five congressional districts for the completion of the last mile projects. We had less than three weeks to put together a proposal.

Collaborating with the Creek County Industrial Authority, the Bristow Industrial Authority, and the newly-established Economic Development Committee, we managed to submit a proposal before the deadline. Just last week, we received the news that we will be granted $3.5 million to complete the infrastructure for an industrial park located north of the city. This is fantastic news as it will attract industry and, consequently, create jobs in Bristow. It serves as a promising sign of agrowth.
