August 3, 1934 - January 5, 2026
Ruby Nadine Blythe was born Aug. 3, 1934, to Walter and Louise Morris at Iron Post, Oklahoma. She went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 5, 2026, in the home, surrounded by her loving family.
Ruby lived in the Iron Post area and graduated in 1952 from Gypsy High School as Valedictorian. Following her graduation, she was employed by Miss Elaine Garment Factory in Bristow. She was united in marriage to Albert Clarence Blythe on Feb. 28, 1953. After their marriage, they moved to San Joaquin, California where they lived approximately one year. Then they moved back to Oklahoma and gave their hearts to the Lord. They became members of Gypsy Holiness church where they attended the rest of their lives. God blessed their union with two sons, David and Mark, and one daughter, Donna.
Ruby was secretary and treasurer of Gypsy church for many years. She was always a part of church activities including quilting bees, suppers, fried pie sales, etc.
She was a dedicated prayer warrior. Some of her hobbies included gardening, sewing, and genealogy.
She was very detail oriented with family history, church history, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. She cooked countless meals for preachers and missionaries. Some of her specialties in cooking were her homemade noodles, her pie crust, oven baked chicken, homemade bread, and her cheese roll that she always served at church dinners.
She hosted her whole family every Sunday for lunch until her health began to decline.
At 2:30 a.m. on Jan. 5, her daughter told her that she would soon be with Jesus.
Ruby replied, “Whenever He’s ready for me.” These were her last words before she slipped into His loving arms around 4:00 that afternoon.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Louise Morris, two brothers, Donald and Roy Joe Morris, one sister, Donna Sue Low, and her husband Albert.
Also worth mentioning are some children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren who moved to Heaven before their birth.
She is survived by her son David and wife Diana, son Mark, and wife Sheryl, and daughter Donna; grandchildren: Sandy, Andrea, Richard, Ashley, Adrina, Trent, Amanda, Tearle and Alecia; great-grandchildren: Paige, Leah, Alexis, Natalie, Noelle, Aiden, Nolan, Brooke, Addalyn, Levi, Archer, Nora, Wyatt, Jessie, Abram, and Walker; sisters: Betty Byars, Mary Carlton, Doris Mudgett, Ellen Smith and Judy Anderson, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, at the Gypsy Holiness Church with interment following at the Bristow City Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Hutchins Maples Matherly Funeral Home.
